The passion that drives my work is an interest in looking deeper into the structures and forms nature, as well as human beings have created, and have the potential to create. My imagery is borrowed throughout time, including ancient architecture, bones, stones, natural artifacts, language and symbols, grounding in the past, present and future. The content of my work has its heart in my love of the land, its life support systems, and an attentive concern towards life’s delicate balance.

The intention of my work is to bridge or serve as a conduit between life lived and what is yet to be. I focus on the links between traditional aspects of our human heritage and contemporary life experience. What remains of this lived experience, be it a bone, stone or petroglyph, is my resource. Bringing this evidence into a reorganized visual/physical form provides clues - perhaps even an oracle.

I am an Artist whose work often speaks through, and is deeply rooted in the photographic process. This esthetic relationship has evolved to balance photographic multiple imagery, collage and the photogram, often extending to installation and sculpture. The mixed media art forms resulting from my process, are designed to be physically, as well as intellectually, experienced.

Photographs record life lived, tracing the marks of a culture, similar to a handprint or a fossil. I often work life-size with the Photogram Process, which serves to photographically imprint a shadow image in great, true-to-life detail, without the use of a negative, camera or enlarger, but rather with direct contact of artifacts and objects to light-sensitive materials.  My life-long involvement with art making and the photographic medium finds me deeply immersed in the joy and insight of continually being in process. I remain in awe of the magic of "silver responding to light" and enthralled with the esthetic experience of life’s multiple languages deepened through ART!
